General Guidlines for 16th All India BKJ National Event

Guidelines Regarding 16th National Level Bharat Ko Jano

(Dec.31st, 2016 & Jan. 1st, 2017)

All the teams that have gone through the School level, Branch level and have topped Prant level of the Bharat Ko Jano pratiyogita organized by their respective prant are eligible to participate in the National Level Bharat Ko Jano Contest scheduled for 31st Dec.16 & 1st Jan.17 at Sri Gangangar (Rajasthan).

Quiz Contest is divided in two groups Junior & Senior. The participating teams are divided into groups of seven or eight teams depending upon total number of teams taking part in the contest. These groups will be asked questions in the Oral Quiz contest. Winners from each of these qualifying rounds will reach the final round. The teams which do not qualify through quiz contest are given another chance to reach to the final through Written test, called Wild Card entry (Maximum two teams from each Jr. & Sr. Groups).

Each qualifying round consists of topic wise quiz based on

(a) Religion & Culture,

(b) History.

(c) Geography & Economic Development,

(d) Sports (for juniors)/Politics & Constitution (for Seniors) and

(e) Miscellaneous round consisting on Current Affairs, National Achievements, Famous Personalities,Literature, Awards & Honours and Science & Technology etc.

However the final round may include more rounds based on Current Events, Literature and Audio-Visual Events.

In addition to the above rounds there will be an additional round titled BHARAT GOURAV (through buzzer) based on  this years’ theme Bharatiya Personalities and events that glorified Bharat in World scenario.

Time given to answer each question is 20 seconds.

10 marks are awarded for each correct answer, No marks for wrong answer or unanswered question (No negative marks for team’s own question).

The wrong answered/unanswered question is passed on to another team through fastest finger first buzzer or to next team in order if buzzer is not available. 5 marks are awarded for correct answer to the passed on question. Minus five marks (-5) for wrong or unanswered question, if taken on buzzer. No negative marks if buzzer is not available.

For the time saving, the passing question on buzzer is restricted to the one or two chance only.

Some rounds may be taken exclusively on buzzer or on the fastest finger first basis. The team that hits the buzzer first will be given 20 seconds to answer. 10 marks are given for correct answer and minus five (-5) marks for wrong or no answer.

***The rules and structure of the contest may be changed by the National Organisers and will be conveyed to the participants before the start of the contest***.

Scheduled date for BKJ competition at Prant level was the 13 November but the same has been postponed to 26th November, Saturday, due to Deepawali and Chhat puja. Now branches can contact more schools after reopening for the competition. This is for the information of all the branches of Magadh Bihar Prant, Gaya, and act accordingly.
